Govt Launches Campaign to Prepare Public For Coronavirus Outbreak

There is no nobility in the Novel Coronavirus. This 400-micron microorganism has almost stopped one-third of the world’s activity. Countries like China, Italy, France, and the USA are going under complete lockdown to stop the transmission of this deadly contagious disease. Indian Government lead by Shri Narendra Modi has managed wonderfully so far. This country is still now in Stage II which means there is no evidence of community breakout to date. As the precautionary measure, PM Modi has addressed the nation on 19th March 2020 on the ways to combat COVID-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the citizen of India to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and stay indoors as much as possible. According to him, this is the biggest danger the world has seen to date. On 22nd March he called for the ‘Janta Curfew’ from 7 am to 9 pm. During that period, no citizen apart from those in emergency and essential services should be out of the house. On the broadcast, Modi said, Even World War I and II did not affect as many countries as coronavirus has done.”

He also advised people to practice social distancing and isolation as it is the only way to stop the contamination. It will be self-imposed and self-regulated as for a developing country like India where the population is a major problem, it is a very tough job to deal with COVID-19.

He also applauded the doctors and health workers who are working continuously for the betterment of the conditions. For that, he has urged his countrymen to clap for the doctors, nurses, health staff and cleaning staff on Sunday at 5 PM.

He suggested everyone stay at home as much as possible. He also said that the offices must allow their employees to work from home for the coming few weeks. Elderly people, more than 65 years of age should not come outside of their house in the coming days.

He also said that there is no need to do panic and buy and store groceries at home. There will be enough supply of essential commodities throughout the period. From 22nd March, no international flights will land on India.

There are only two ways to stop the destructive Coronavirus, one is practicing good hand hygiene and the second is maintaining social distancing. WHO (World Health Organization) has launched #SafeHands Challenge where they promote 20 seconds hand washing technique to wash off the virus. It is very important to carry sanitizer when you are outdoor to maintain hygiene. You don’t need to use the mask if you don’t have a cough and cold. Do not attend any social gathering until things will be better.
